2008 WHEP CDE

Contest Date: Fall, 2008 (Saturday, September 20)

NOTE! This CDE has been moved to the Fall, starting in 2008.

  • Registrations due: September 5, 2008 (Friday), with payment or PO ($10/participant). Mail to address given below (no educator signature is required)
  • Site: Wright Center, Tippecanoe County (directions near the bottom of the homepage)
  • Time: Registration is from 8 - 8:45. The CDE starts at 9 AM.
  • Management Plan - Youth will write a wildlife management plan for a rural habitat.

Contest guidelines are available in the Indiana 4-H/FFA Ag Judging Handbook (on-line) and are given here (file created from the Handbook, 3/18/08).

NOTES:

  • Management Plan for 2008: Urban - may include a wetland
  • We will be using the 2001 (revision) of the National Handbook as the primary resource for this CDE. (A new on-line version was just posted recently, and will be considered for future (after 2008) CDEs in Indiana.
  • April 12 is also Purdue's Spring Fest. This free event is an annual event showcasing the lighter side of higher education and recommended for coaches during the CDE and afterwards (if time allows) for participants.
