The project is divided in five different divisions:

  • Flowers I: The World of Flowers
  • Flowers II: All about Annual Flowers
  • Flowers III: Growing Plants Indoors
  • Flowers IV: Arranging Flowers and Terrariums
  • Advanced Flowers Project

 

Youth will learn basic information and skills needed to grow healthy plants and flowers.

 

Youth may complete this program independently or with the help of a knowledgeable adult or older teen. Project manuals:

    Indiana State Fair Exhibit Guidelines

    • In the Flowers I you will learn about what a flower is, how to care for them and enjoy them both indoors and outdoors.
    • In Flowers II you will learn about what annuals are, where to grow them, and how to care for them.
    • In Flowers III you will learn about growing indoor plants, the environments these plants need, how to care for them, how to prepare planters, and how to grow specimen plants.
    • In Flowers IV: you will learn the basic information you need for arranging flowers, making corsages and working with terrariums.
    • In Advanced Flowers Project you will have the opportunity to expand on what you learned in the lower levels. Emphasis is on perennials, but you can also use activities such a hanging baskets and dried arrangements to expand upon what you have learn in the lower levels.
