Plant Sciences
The 4-H plant sciences educational program
and related activities (i.e., workshops, tours,
seminars) provide participants (youth and families)
fun and hands-on learning experiences. These
experiences develop plant science subject skills
(identification, plant growth, and information
gathering) and life skills (decision-making,
discipline, communication), mostly under the
direction of caring adults, but at times in
teamwork with older youth.
Forages
(generally considered hay)
The 4-H forage educational program and related
activities (i.e., workshops, tours, seminars)
provide participants (youth and families) fun
and hands-on learning experiences. These experiences
develop forage crop subject skills (identification,
plant growth, care) and life skills (decision-making,
discipline, communication), mostly under the
direction of caring adults, but at times in
teamwork with older youth
Corn
The 4-H corn educational program and related
activities (i.e., workshops, tours, seminars)
provide participants (youth and families) fun
and hands-on learning experiences. These experiences
develop corn subject skills (identification,
plant growth, care) and life skills (decision-making,
discipline, communication), mostly under the
direction of caring adults, but at times in
teamwork with older youth
Flowers
The 4-H flowers educational program and related
activities (i.e., workshops, tours, seminars)

and hands-on learning experiences. These experiences

plant growth, care) and life skills (decision-making,
discipline, communication), mostly under the
direction of caring adults, but at times in
teamwork with older youth.

Soybeans

Weeds

plant growth, and control) and life skills (decision-making,
discipline, communication), mostly under the
direction of caring adults, but at times in
teamwork with older youth.
Judging
Events
The 4-H/FFA Ag Judging
program provides youth with a fun and hands-on
learning experience which develops both in-depth
subject skills (such as crop samples, insect
identification, forestry management, horticultural
samples, soil profiles, animal and bird evaluations,
meat and dairy product selection) and life skills
(such as responsibility, decision-making, nurturing,
and communications) under the direction of caring
adults.
