Exploring an important issue and learning how to take action is the focus of this activity-packed curriculum for youth grades 4-8. Youth follow the Three Little Pigs in the first activity guide and help them make a home that is suitable for their environment. In the second guide, they focus on what makes an environment that is "too hot" and "too cold" for Goldilocks and the Three Bears to live in. Youth explore the green house effect and the gases that contribute to a "just right" atmosphere. Issues Investigation includes identification of climate change problems, players, positions, beliefs and values. Many of the activities can be completed individually, but the experiments are best when a helper is involved. Helper's have their own guide with answer key and helpful hints. This curriculum is ideal for clubs, day camps, and after-school programs. |
