4-H in the Classroom

Horticulture Previous list

"Growing Fun for Growing Minds" is the theme of this exciting horticulture series. Youth will enjoy activities about indoor and outdoor gardening, flower arranging, composting and plant science. Whether youth live in a high-rise apartment or have a large yard or garden, this project has something fun for them. While developing horticulture skills, youth will be practicing valuable life skills such as communications, decision-making and problem solving. There are even opportunities for leadership and community service. Three levels of youth manuals and a helper's guide are available. They are adaptable to classrooms, youth groups, after-school programs and members. The publications are available from the Purdue Media Distribution Center:

BU-07154 Horticulture Level 2 "Branching Out"
BU-07155 Horticulture Level 3 "Digging Deeper"
