Who Protects Our Food

The government agencies listed on the Food Safety Team Members chart are responsible for safeguarding the food supply. However, other parts of the food handler chain are involved as well. Together with government agencies, they constitute a “team” of food safety members. They include:

• Farmers.
• Food processors.
• Retailers (grocers and restaurants).
• Consumers.
