The food industry
The food industry is one of the largest industries in the United States. Its complex network spans the globe, because the food we eat comes from many different sources and is processed into many different forms. In addition, the food industry affects many other industries, such as those that supply work clothes, farm and processing equipment, plus railroads, public utilities, construction compaines, etc.
The food industry must keep up with continuing population growth and higher living standards. Consumers demand improved quantity, quality, variety, and safety of foods. These are some of the reasons why a career in foods is challenging, demanding, and ever-changing.
