The 4-H Adult and Family Hosting Program

Sharing Your Home, Family, and Culture with Friends from Japan

This program provides a way to explore a new world without leaving home.  Families who participate discover that in addition to gaining new friends and a new understanding of another culture, the experience is also one that brings their own family closer together.

The Program

Opportunities to host vary from year to year and from state to state.

• There are opportunities to host single adults, couples, and families with children.
• The homestays are generally short, from two to ten days.
• State 4-H Coordinators assist with the selection and preparation of host families and assist with the activities and arrangements.
